Gearing up for SXSW

South by Southwest is just a few short days away and I'm getting pretty excited. By all accounts, it's going to be a blast. I'm scrambling a bit to get everything figured out and taken care of before Friday. On my short list:

• Pick up an extra Powerbook battery
• Make sure I have some business cards
• Upload badge photo
• Resolve the conflicts in my panel schedule (too many great ones to choose from!)
• Put my schedule and all the various directions on the iPod and don't forget to charge it

I'm looking forward to all the great panels and presentations, but I think I'm most looking forward to meeting as many fellow web geeks as I can. (Just imagine what the iChat Bonjour window will look like in the conference center.) All the evening activities look very promising, and I'm not certainly not opposed to some good Texas barbecue. This being my first visit to Austin, I'm going to enjoy trekking around and getting a feel for what everyone says is the coolest city in the lone star state.
