It seems like more than two weeks since I last posted here and... oh wait, it has been that long. Gee willickers! Well it certainly hasn't been for lack of news or happenings; it's more due to just the scarcity of time these days. Trying to run a business on the side in addition to a full-time job and raising a 2-month old doesn't leave you with much free time. And that's not mentioning the two high-maintenance cats - What? You want food? again?! I just fed you this morning!

Over the last few weeks I've had numerous ideas floating around in my mind for posts, so I'm going to jam them all into one. I'm sure you'll thank me for the brevity.

h2. Hurricane Katrina

Like everyone else, I was heartbroken to see the destruction and chaos brought on by Katrina, especially in New Orleans. The two most significant thoughts I have to contribute to this are: first, Brown (director of FEMA) should be sacked, maybe even tried for his utter failure at doing his job. Yeah, most people are just fired if they do their jobs that poorly, but when it means people are dying by the hundreds then I think jail time is a perfectly reasonable consequence. Second, isn't it mind-boggling how close our dignified society is to anarchy and chaos? I found myself looking around as I drove through my neighborhood wondering who would turn on his brother and sister if that kind of disaster happened here.

h2. Bob Denver

The man who was Gilligan will be missed. Did you know Gilligan's first name was Willy?

h2.Mint

Shaun Inman launched Mint, what looks to be an awesome website statistics analysis package thing-a-ma-jig. Especially since it can be extended using an API, which he calls Pepper of course. And don't forget the dashboard widget - Junior Mint. Nice. I need to convince Jonathan that we need Mint for Blue Rocket.

h2.Disneyland

I experienced a whole different side of Disneyland on Thursday - the world of strollers. We went with family and brought Zachary and had a great time. But I've never been more conscious of all the strollers. I mean I noticed them before, usually keeping a sharp eye on any likely to interfere with my path as I sped to the next ride, quickly dodging those that got close. This time I was amazed at just how many strollers there really are, and all the stroller spots. We took Z on Small World and Pirates, and sat out a few that he couldn't take his car seat on (he was sleeping and we wanted to keep it that way) like Peter Pan.
