Mighty Mouse
Shock! Mayhem! Pandemonium!
Apple has finally designed and released a new mouse, and not just any mouse but a 3-button mouse. No, your -ears- eyes are not confused - Apple's new mouse does left and right clicking. And it scrolls too!
If you're not surprised and think Apple should have done this a long time ago, well... you're right. But everyone Mac addict knows that Steve doesn't think people really want or can handle more than one button on a mouse. Or at least, he used to think that. This is a good step for Apple. It may not be the best mouse on the market, but it means that Apple officially recognizes that 3+ buttons is not only good, it's the norm. And it means one less hiccup for people switching from Windows to the Mac.
Mighty Mouse has one particularly innovative feature: a 360 degree scroll ball, not a scroll wheel. Scroll up and down, left and right, and whatever way you want. My Logitech mouse has a scroll wheel that you can push to either side to scroll horizontally, but Apple's solution is far more natural. I'm interested to see how Mighty Mouse performs... It's optical (should've gone laser, Apple!) and has some decent customization options.
I won't be switching from the best mouse on the market - the Logitech MX Laser mouse with 8 buttons and awesome ergonomics, but three buttons, er cheers, for Apple's Mighty Mouse!
