We've referred to the Windows world as 'Wintel' for a long time, but with today's announcement that future Macs will be run by Intel processors, we may as well just go back to simply calling Windows machines 'Windows machines.'

Or do we call future Macs MacIntels? Or Mintels?

Is it just me or this Intel switch a little surreal? First Adobe buys Macromedia, and now Apple goes Intel. Strange things are afoot at the circle K. Dude.

In an Alias-like move, Steve Jobs revealed that Mac OS X has been "leading a secret double life... for the last five years" - every release has been compiled for both PowerPC and Intel.

J. J. Abrams couldn't have written a stranger twist.
