The New Look
Finally! Since launching this site a few months ago I've been meaning to sit down and work out a "real" design. Design 0.5 (what I'm calling that brown thing) got things this far so it served its purpose. The new look's designed to be simpler, cleaner, and breathe a little easier. There's not a whole lot to it, and I'm happy about that - it's what I was going for. So far I'm pretty pleased with it. Ask me in a few months though... who knows.
If I can look back on something I designed six months or two years prior and still like it, well that's always satisfying. Sometimes it's like "what the heck was I thinking?" but usually my reaction is more along the lines of "okay, not too shabby but I don't know if I'd do it that way again." Maybe that's a natural part of the design process. Or maybe I'm just a piss-poor designer, pardon my french. I spend a lot more time coding and debugging than designing, though I'm beginning to wish it were more evenly balanced. Not many opportunities to design when you're saddled with a global template at your day job that doesn't exactly scream... well much at all really.
Anyway, the point here is: new design, hope ya like it. And if the background of this content area isn't slightly transparent, it's time to get a better browser.
